One Response to “How to choose between upright and recumbent exercise bike?”

  1. I like the upright better personally, it may not be as comfortable but you get a better workout with it and it is more versatile. I only use the recumbent bike at the gym when I am cooling down from a very vigorous workout. Either one will help, but my vote goes for the upright for the following reasons.
-Smaller footprint (it’ll take up less room)
-More versatile (you can do many different angles and it works you harder)
-Cheaper (you can get an everlast upright for less than $150 new)

As far as your heel spurs go you are going to have to try out both bikes if neither one hurts you, go with the upright.
